Pr Marianne Diez

Marianne Diez graduated at the University of Liège (Belgium), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FVM) on June 1989. She spent 2 years in her own private practice before joining the Animal Nutrition Unit in 1991 as a PhD student in the Department of Animal Production. She had also the charge of developing small animal nutrition lectures and clinical nutrition consultation for the students. She obtained her PhD in 1998 (Contribution to the study of dietary fibre in dog’s diet: effects on faeces characteristics, nutrient digestibility and blood metabolites), and in 2010, an academic position in the same institution, in charge of the teaching of small animal clinical nutrition. Dr Diez is a founding diplomate of the ECVCN (European College of Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition) and member of the board.  She is the author of a large number of original papers in peer-viewed journals, congress abstracts and conferences. About research activities, her main interests are prebiotics, pet nutrition and diseases, in particular canine obesity and biochemical disturbancies associated to obesity.
